Bassem is an International Business Special Counsel, Attorney at Law and Founding Partner of Bridgedawn Group. He specializes in financial and legal/tax solutions along with strategic international business & investment structuring.
Prior to Bridgedawn, he served as President & Chief Executive Officer of SGG USA (New York/Miami), the North-American arm of SGG Group (now IQ-EQ www.iqeq.com), the world's fourth-largest investor services group with a team of nearly 2500 people across 23 jurisdictions, servicing financial institutions, fund managers, global companies, family offices and private clients operating worldwide. Prior to that, Bassem was head of Middle-East & Africa in the same group while based in Luxembourg. He was in charge of developing the group’s business in these regions as well as advising and representing North-American and EMEA clients, investors and business partners. Bassem has also worked as a lawyer in two major law firms: Bonn Schmitt Steichen in Luxembourg-City and the law firm of his family member, former Member of Parliament, Minister and Presidential Candidate, Mr. Mikhael Daher in Beirut. He is the Founding Partner of Bassem Daher & Associates Law Firm (a member and legal arm of Bridgedawn Group).
Bassem advises major fortune 500 multinationals on issues relating to legal and tax structuring, financing/fundraising and business implementation. His clients also include major international sports players, red-carpet fashion designers, Hollywood celebrities, banks and financial institutions, oil & gas multinationals, fund managers and top 10 Private Equity, Venture Capital and Real Estate groups who choose him to advise them on target jurisdiction strategic legal/tax, business and investment matters.
Bassem worked closely with ministries, governmental bodies and other organizations on strategic plans for the enhancement of their business or jurisdictions’ attractiveness. These parties included the Luxembourg-American Chamber of Commerce (former board member), the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance, the American Bar Association, the Lebanese International Finance Executive (New York, Dubai & Beirut Chapters) and Luxembourg for Finance.
Bassem holds a Master of Laws (“LL.M”) in Banking & Finance law from Boston University School of Law, a “Maîtrise en Droit” in French and Lebanese private laws and a BA in Political Science and Public Administration from Saint-Joseph University. He is currently finalizing his Ph.D in Law thesis at the prestigious Sorbonne University (Paris 1) focused on cross-border business and investments laws. He lived in 4 different countries and 5 different cities (Beirut, Boston, Luxembourg, New York and Dubai). Such international exposure enhanced his multilingual background and communication abilities. Bassem is fluent in English, French and Arabic with full professional proficiency in each language and has good knowledge of German & Spanish.
